L'Ecole de journalisme de Sciences Po a l'immense honneur de vous convier, le vendredi 29 août 2014 à 10h45 à la leçon inaugurale exceptionnelle de Jon Lee Anderson, grand reporter de The New Yorker, "Reporting the Storm". 

 

Né en 1957, Jon Lee Anderson est entré au New Yorker en 1998 après avoir travaillé pour Time Magazine et d'autres publications. Il a couvert de nombreux conflits sur la scène internationale, en Syrie, Ukraine, Libye, Irak, Afghanistan, Liban, Somalie, Soudan, Angola, Mali, Liberia, et plus récemment Centrafrique. Il a fait le portrait des grands de ce monde, comme Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Augusto Pinochet, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, King Juan Carlos of Spain, Hamid Karzai, Mahmoud Ahmadinajad... Lauréat de plusieurs prix, dont le Maria Moors Cabot Prize en 2013 de l'Université de Columbia, il a écrit plusieurs ouvrages, dont la biographie de "Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life", "Guerrillas: Journeys In the Insurgent World", The Lion's Grave: Dispatches from Afghanistan" et "The Fall of Baghdad". Son prochain livre sera sur Fidel Castro.

 

Cette leçon inaugurale est ouverte au public sur inscription (les étudiants de l'Ecole de journalisme de Sciences Po sont déjà inscrits). Elle aura lieu à Sciences Po, amphithéâtre Leroy Beaulieu, 27 rue Saint-Guillaume, 75007 Paris.

Sciences Po School of Journalism has the great pleasure to welcome Jon Lee Anderson, war correspondent for The New Yorker, for the opening lecture on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 10.45, about "Reporting the Storm".

 

Born in 1957, Jon Lee Anderson is a New Yorker staff writer since 1998. He has covered numerous international conflicts, including those in Syria, Ukraine, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Somalia, Sudan, Angola, Mali, Liberia. His last assignment was to the Central African Republic. He has profiled a number of international public figures such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Augusto Pinochet, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, King Juan Carlos of Spain, Hamid Karzai, Mahmoud Ahmadinajad. He has won a number of awards, most recently Columbia University’s 2013 Maria Moors Cabot award for his reporting on Latin America. Anderson is also the author of a biography of the iconic Marxist revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara entitled "Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life". He has written several other books, including "Guerrillas: Journeys In the Insurgent World", "The Lion's Grave: Dispatches from Afghanistan" and "The Fall of Baghdad". His next book will be about Fidel Castro.
